You may have actually changed my mind and given me some clarity on an approach I was pushing for in our team. I had suggested a bi-weekly end of sprint release schedule with hot-fixes and high priority items going through as and when needed.
After reading your article, I realize that I have been pushing for this in order to combat a larger issue which is product people deeming all their requests to be urgent, and of course if everything is urgent then nothing is, but it’s better to tackle that issue separately without altering the deployment process.
